DJ TENSE (USA), (Apocalypse Records, Atomic Annihilation Recordings) His First Appearance In The UK For A Decade!!!!!!!!!
Robert Amar, aka Bobby Tense, has been spinning records for over 15 years with a musical style that has progressed from: hip hop and rap to hardcore and speedcore techno. After first tasting “heavy metal” sounding techno, Tense went on a mission searching the techno stores for this new brutal style of techno that would, in the next few years, control the underground NYC rave scene. Earning a spot on the weekly lineup at the legendary Limelight in the early 1990’s, helped the 16 year old DJ – make a name for him self by playing alongside such influential artists as Lenny Dee, Nicky Fingers, Rob Gee, and more.
During this time, Tense collaborated with Tyrant and AXYS-DEZA under the name “F.U.H.D.”, and released work on the most well-known of hardcore labels– Industrial Strength. This was quickly followed by a release on the subsidiary label Bastard Loud. Tense was then invited to play in Newcastle, England which would be his first overseas DJ gig but certainly not the last. In 2000 he, Tyrant and Nevermind (a.k.a. Hellz Army) launched Apocalypse Recordings. After 12 years, Apocalypse Recordings is arguably the hardest-sounding record company in the United States.
Since Apocalypse Records has come out, Bobby Tense has continued playing internationally, and has had many tracks released on labels such as Industrial Strength, Low Res Records, N.E. Tunes & Speedboat, just to name a few.
